With leaders Defence Force and Guaya United locked in a two-team battle for the 2015/2016 CNG National Super League Premier Division Football title, Matura ReUnited and FC Santa Rosa will be going after victories this afternoon to cement their top five positions in re-scheduled matches.
Defence Force currently leads the 15-team table with 54 points from 24 matches and four left to play, one point ahead of Guaya United which has a match in hand while Tobago FC Phoenix 1976, Matura Re United and FC Santa Rosa complete the top five with 46, 38 and 36 points respectively from.
However, the top three teams will not be in action, leaving the door open for Matura and Santa Rosa which have played 22 and 24 matches respectively, to close the gap, while solidifying their hold on their positions.
Santa Rosa, coming off a narrow 2-3 loss to Guaya United a week ago will be at home at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya for a 5pm clash with La Horquetta S.A, which also went under in its last outing, 2-4 at Marabella Family Crisis Centre.
Boosted by its 1-0 defeat of Police FC, Matura Re United entertains Petrotrin Palo Seco at the Matura Recreation Ground from 4pm while in the day’s other re-scheduled match, last year’s champions, Club Sando Moruga entertains Marabella Family Crisis Centre at Grand Chemin Recreation Ground from 4pm as well.
