Goal-attack Chantel Perry could not be restrained as she notched a half-century of goals to lead Soul City to a huge 82-10 victory over Police Y in the First Division of the Port-of-Spain Netball League. The onslaught took place at the Jean Pierre Complex in Mucurapo on Monday evening.

Perry shot with 88 percent accuracy, connecting 50 from 57 attempts in the one-sided affair in which Soul City was never challenged by the policewomen.

City was on top 21-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead, adding 26 goals compared to Police’s two, to hold a 47-6 advantage at the half. All thanks went to the effective shooting of Perry and goal-shooter Indra Anderson, who netted 27 in 34.

Soul City, playing without one of its main shooters Kalifa McCollin due to national duties, stayed in command into the third session, leading 60-9 and when Kurtisha Hoyce entered the match as the goal-attack, play remained at a high level. She hit five off six as City outscored Police 22-1 in the final stanza to ease to the 72-goal victory and recorded its second straight win of the season.

No Police shooter reached double-figures with Cheryse Aguillera scoring six of 17 and Nicola Small getting four from eight.

Two matches were contested in the Second “Y” Division with Malvern pulling off a narrow two-goal (39-37) win over Marvellites and Cardinals sealing a comfortable 42-23 victory.

Shooting from goal-attack Aaliyah Mulrain (22/38) and Patrina Ashby (17/39) set up the win for Malvern.
