Two Trinidadians have been literally painting Europe. Attorney Justin Sobion, son of late AG Keith Sobion, and the Carnival/Island scenery of Netherlands-based photographer Kerron Riley are getting lots of attention for their Trini Art Expo at the De Vrije Werkplek, Amsterdam.
Promoted by Caribbean Creativity and the Yard Vibes Group in Amsterdam, the exhibit showcases the flamboyant-style artwork of Sobion and Riley.
Besides a local Dutch crowd, there were also Swiss and French patrons. The opening night last month also featured a mix of the Caribbean/Caricom diaspora from countries such as Suriname, Jamaica, Barbados, Curacao, Aruba, St Eustatius and of course T&T.
The art lovers also had a taste of T&T’s cuisine in the form of the local delicacy, doubles.
The Trini Art Expo continues at De Vrije Werkplek until June 30.
