Be on the look out for two stolen bulldogs

A Diego Martin woman is asking all vets in the country to be on the look out for two stolen bulldogs which were taken from her father’s Couva home early this morning.

Around 1 am Monday morning a woman who identified herself as Sankar said her two five-month-old bulldog puppies, Romeo and Champ, were let out of the Couva, Point Lisas house to relieve themselves in their secured yard.

Sankar said it was not out of the norm for the puppies to be let out during the early hours of the morning. But when they were called back inside, the dogs were no where to be found.

“They were waiting for the dogs to be let out. Those dogs were accustomed to being let out at all hours. We heard them barking, but that was normal for them. They are brothers. They are always playing together,” Sankar said.

Around 1.15 am she said she no longer heard the dogs barking, and they would not respond to her calls.

“I went back outside to get them, but they were gone,” she said.

Sankar believes someone in the area was planning to steal the dogs. She said her yard is difficult to see into, and as the gates still had the padlocks on it after the theft, they must have jumped over the gate to get the dogs.

Romeo is all brown with a white speck above the left eye, and Champ is white and brown.

Sankar thinks that whoever stole Romeo and Champ intends to sell them. She is asking any vet to be on the look out for them because they will require medical treatment. These bulldogs are both on medication and only eat a specially medicated food that is tailored to the nutritional needs of their breed.

Sankar and her family is offering a reward for the safe return of the bulldogs. Anyone who has seen dogs fitting their description can contact Sankar at 714-5850.
